Please note: This workshop is part of a series of workshops providing case studies and solutions for vertical business problems. In this workshop, we use the Health Care Industry as an example. However, the solutions and techniques provided can be used for any kind of client processing and management.

Workshop Description

In this three hour, live online, hands-on workshop, you’ll implement a full solution for Health Care Case Management in SharePoint.  The scenario used is one to manage a new patient check in at a hospital.

When a new patient arrives in the hospital, there are phases that the patient goes through in their hospital admittance process.  In this workshop, you will learn how to create a custom solution for the management of these patients in SharePoint.

Presenter Laura Rogers has built and used this system for a major health care provider, giving her extensive experience is the use and management of the solutions.

Examples of case management solutions provided in this workshop:

  • Exposing certain fields to fill out, according to the patient’s status
  • List of patients tied to their room’s information and phone number
  • A discharge calendar system
  • Patient census - key performance indicators
  • Color coding by patient insurance type

This workshop is for users of WSS and MOSS.

Heidi [Fundamentals of SharePoint Lists and Libraries]
"This was one of the best training sessions I have attended. It delivered a lot of powerful information yet was simple to follow and participate in"

"I found this to be a very eye opening workshop. With Sharepoint I find that there are many items that become overwelming. When you broke it down into the simple spreadsheets it made much more sense."

Linda [Fundamentals of SharePoint Lists and Libraries]
"The hands on training along with following your lead, helped me get more confident in working in SharePoint."

Mick [Simple Site Planning: Get it right the first time!]
"Anybody who has worked at SharePoint knows that if you get your planning right then you can save yourself a lot of work. I thought the impact of the workshop was kept high by having a live customer, this technique delivered a healthy slug of reality to (the) proceedings."

Urs [Fundamentals of SharePoint Lists and Libraries] "Very professional work. Thanks to Mark and his team. The workshop format with the hands-on lab made the 3 hours webconferencing event a valuable experience for me."
